Clay Erlandson opens the doors
On April Fools' Day, 1989, Clay Erlandson bet a career on a simple idea: contractors would rather work with someone they trust than shop the lowest price at a big-box store. He opened Action Fastenings with a small inventory, a phone line, and a reputation to build.
That reputation — for showing up, knowing the product, and standing behind every order — became the foundation for everything that followed.
Eric Erlandson carries it forward
As the business grew, Eric Erlandson took the reins, deepening relationships with Twin Cities general contractors, framers, and specialty trades. Eric maintained what Clay had built: a business that ran on trust, not transactions.
Trevor Walton takes over — mentored by Eric
Trevor Walton didn't buy this business off a listing. He worked in it — for years, side by side with Eric — learning the customers, the products, the way it's always been done. When Eric was ready to step back, Trevor was the obvious next chapter.

We're a member of the Specialty Tools & Fasteners Distributors Association, which gives us access to specialty product lines and training — including deep expertise in steel-stud framing systems.
